From Zywiec, Poland comes their Marcowe Lager. This was a smooth and fairly light bodied brew with a nice balance of barley and subtle hop flavor. It was easy to drink and had a clean finish.
The appearance wasn’t too bad either, as an attractive golden amber. A nice change of pace from my usual darks.
Zywiec Bock (a stronger variety) was, I guess one can say, my gateway drink to the porter style, and I am a true advocate of both. Unlike Zywiec Bock, Zywiec Marcowe is hardly sweet, yet both are lagers of exceptional quality.
I can’t really say anything negative about this beer, unless I say it’s taste is a bit more mainstream than what I usually drink. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the experience and will drink it again, no doubt.
